Applications Engineer

Position

Application Engineers work directly with customers, partners, engineering, and sales to enable product adoption. The AE presents solutions, understand customer requirements and suggest right solutions. The AE is the primary contact for customers on all technical questions or issues during evaluation, design-in phase all the way to product end of life. AE job provides the opportunity to travel, work with other engineers on leading edge designs & technology. Applications engineers are critical as they suggest new technology and provide different design approaches which make for top selling products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer application requirements and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Analyze customer issues, work with engineering and propose technical resolution
  • Support customers during all phases of product development including certification
  • Work closely with Wi2Wi's partners to propose winning solutions to the customers
  • Provide technical training to customers, sales representatives, distributors and internal sales
  • Create application notes and write white papers and articles
  • Create reference applications and product demonstrations using Wi2Wi's products
  • Prepare product presentations and demonstrate new products and services
  • May need to travel domestic and international to provide sales and on-site customer support

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. Computers/Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 or more years of industry experience in product engineering, applications engineering or field applications engineering of embedded systems for consumer/automotive/Telecom/Medical industry.
  • Experience working with social networking and social media service providers

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Programming experience in C/C++ required
  • Experience with ARM based microcontrollers
  • Protocol knowledge in 802.11(Wi-Fi), or Bluetooth or locationing (GNSS) and their applications
  • Knowledge of standard bus interfaces (SDIO, USB, SPI, UART etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of standard operating systems as Linux/Android, Windows
  • Experience using lab equipment like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators
  • Good system and software debugging skills on embedded platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers
  • Action oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Process oriented, detailed and clear documentation practitioner
